Refund and Cancellation Policy

What this policy covers

This policy applies to individual coaching, group coaching, training, AI readiness assessments, agreed implementation work, ebooks, guides and monthly memberships supplied by CEO In Slippers.

Read it together with our Terms and Conditions and the details provided before you book or pay.

All references to days mean calendar days unless business days are expressly stated.

Your legal rights take priority

The cancellation charges and voluntary refund arrangements below apply only where lawful. They do not replace a statutory right to cancel without a penalty or receive a full refund.

Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) applies to an online service agreement, you may cancel without a reason or penalty within seven days of concluding the agreement. A refund due under that right must be paid within 30 days of cancellation.

An exception may apply where the service actually begins with your consent during those seven days. Other statutory exceptions may also apply. Booking a slot or making payment alone does not remove the cooling off right.

Where the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) direct marketing cooling off right applies instead, you may cancel within its five business day period. For a qualifying service cancellation under that right, repayment is due within 15 business days of receiving the cancellation notice.

Any other applicable consumer rights, including rights relating to service quality, defective products or non delivery, remain protected.

How to cancel or request a refund

Email hello@ceoinslippers.co.za with your name, booking or invoice reference, the offer concerned and your request.

Cancellation notice is measured from when we receive your request. Where the law permits another recorded method of cancellation, we will also recognise a valid notice made through that method.

For a statutory cancellation that does not require a reason, you do not need to explain why you are cancelling.

Do not send passwords, full card numbers or card security codes.

Coaching and training cancellation fees

Where no statutory right to cancel without a charge applies, the following maximum fees may apply to the cancelled booking:

Notice before the agreed service startMaximum cancellation fee
7 days or moreUp to 25% of the cancelled booking fee
At least 48 hours but less than 7 daysUp to 50% of the cancelled booking fee
Less than 48 hoursUp to 75% of the cancelled booking fee
You miss the booked session without cancellingUp to 100% of the missed session fee

These are maximum limits, not automatic deductions. We will determine a reasonable charge taking account of the nature of the service, notice given, preparation and commitments, the opportunity to fill the booking, avoided costs and relevant industry practice.

We will reduce the charge where the circumstances justify it, including where the booking is filled and the loss is avoided. We will explain any deduction in writing and refund the balance due.

For an individual coaching session, the relevant start is the booked session time unless separate substantive preparation has been expressly agreed.

For group coaching or training, the agreed service start may be the preparation start date disclosed and agreed before payment. Preparation may take 2 to 5 days before the session. Your confirmation will distinguish the preparation start from the live session date.

Where the CPA applies, no booking cancellation fee will be charged if it prohibits the charge because of the death or hospitalisation of the person for whom, or for whose benefit, the booking was made.

Rescheduling coaching or training

You may reschedule once without a rescheduling fee if we receive at least 48 hours of notice before the booked session and a suitable alternative date is available.

For group coaching or training, we will confirm how any preparation already completed can be used for the new date. Any genuinely additional work or external cost must be explained and agreed before it is incurred.

Later or repeated rescheduling requests will be considered according to availability and any reasonable additional cost. We will not charge an undisclosed automatic rescheduling fee.

AI readiness assessments

An assessment includes reviewing your business information, consultation calls, an emailed report with recommendations, and a booked meeting to discuss the report.

We will confirm when information review starts. This is the assessment service start, even if consultation calls take place later.

If you cancel within 48 hours of payment and before assessment work starts, we will refund at least 80% of the assessment fee. Any retained amount is limited to 20% and must be reasonable and justified. Where the law requires a full refund, we will refund 100%.

This assessment refund offer takes priority over the general fee table for that situation. It is not a 48 hour limit on your statutory cancellation rights.

If you cancel after 48 hours of payment but before work starts, any reasonable cancellation fee is subject to the relevant maximum in the table above, measured against the agreed assessment start date.

If you cancel after work starts, we will account for work actually completed under the agreed scope and any additional reasonable, lawful cancellation cost. We will explain the calculation and refund the balance due. We will not charge twice for the same work or loss, and total deductions will not exceed the agreed assessment fee.

Once all agreed assessment deliverables, including the report discussion meeting, have been provided, we do not offer a voluntary refund simply because you change your mind. Your rights concerning service quality or other statutory remedies remain protected.

Other project work

For agreed implementation or other project work, the scope and service start will be stated before payment.

On cancellation, we will account for completed work and any reasonable, lawful cancellation costs under the agreement, without charging twice for the same work or loss. We will explain deductions and refund any balance due. Statutory rights take priority.

Ebooks and guides

Ebooks and guides are made available electronically once payment is confirmed.

Where the law permits, we do not offer voluntary change of mind refunds once the product has been supplied. This does not exclude statutory cancellation rights or remedies for defective files, non delivery, misleading descriptions or other failures to meet legal requirements.

Immediate access or download does not automatically remove every statutory cooling off right. ECTA includes an exception for the sale of books; we apply an exception only where it legally applies to the particular product.

If you cannot access your product, or receive a damaged, incorrect or unusable file, email us with the details. We will address the problem and provide a replacement, refund or other remedy as required by law.

Monthly memberships

Monthly memberships are paid manually in advance, with payment due on the 1st. Payment buys access for the stated calendar month.

If you choose not to pay for the next month, access ends when your paid month expires. There is no 22 day notice requirement or cancellation fee simply for choosing not to buy another month.

If you notify us that you do not wish to renew, you retain access for the remainder of the month you have paid for.

We do not offer a voluntary refund simply because you choose not to use an available membership during its paid month. Any applicable cooling off right, statutory cancellation right or remedy for a service failure remains protected.

If we cancel or cannot deliver

If we cannot deliver an agreed service, we will offer a suitable alternative or refund the amount due for the undelivered service. You do not have to accept an alternative date.

No client cancellation penalty applies because we fail to deliver as agreed. Any statutory right to a full refund, interest or another remedy takes priority.

Service quality concerns

If a service does not meet the agreed requirements, email us with the details.

Where the CPA applies, you retain the right to require us to remedy a service failure or refund a reasonable portion of the price, as the law provides. Completed work is not automatically exempt from these rights.

Refund timing and payment method

We will review your request promptly and confirm the outcome, amount and any lawful deductions in writing.

Refunds that are due will be paid within 30 calendar days of receiving a valid cancellation or refund request, or sooner where applicable law requires. The period is not postponed until we approve the request.

In particular, qualifying ECTA cooling off refunds must be paid within 30 days of cancellation, and qualifying CPA direct marketing refunds within 15 business days of the relevant cancellation notice. Any shorter applicable deadline takes priority.

Refunds will be made through the original payment method where supported, or another lawful method agreed with you. Card refunds will be returned to the original card through the payment provider. We will provide refund confirmation.

Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to show the credit. We will initiate the refund promptly enough to meet the applicable deadline and help trace a refund where needed.
